Do you want to strengthen our unit and make a difference for the most vulnerable elderly patients in the hospital? Would you like to be part of a process where one of the geriatrics departments is being transformed into a geriatric emergency care unit (GAVA) and the other into hospital geriatrics for patients who need to be close to the resources of the emergency hospital.

Do you want to work with geriatrics in an emergency hospital and have the opportunity to work in other parts of the emergency hospital as well? Do you thrive in a context that is developing to meet the needs of the most vulnerable elderly patients in the hospital, where the physiotherapist's contributions are highly valued?

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist and may have worked for a few years. You are welcome to have supervisor training and experience and interest in mentoring physiotherapy students. It is important that you are a team player! You will receive an individually tailored introduction and will always have experienced colleagues to consult with. We offer clear routines and a structured working method.

Currently, we work Monday to Friday and have flexible hours. Weekend work may become relevant as the business develops and needs change.

As an employee at Danderyd Hospital, you will receive compensation for healthcare, a wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year, and access to the well-equipped staff gym Lyftet for only 800 SEK per year. Staff parking is available at a favorable price (30 SEK/day) and subsidized SL tickets. Soon, subsidized work shoes will be introduced. The subway, buses, and Roslagsbanan are in immediate proximity to the hospital. If you prefer to cycle, that is also excellent. You will receive favorable agreements for parental leave, pension, and vacation.

Job Description

Clinical work in departments focusing on geriatric emergency care unit (GAVA) and hospital geriatrics. The lengths of stay are short, and the patients are multi-sick.

Tasks: Early, rapid, and clinically safe assessments. Mobilization and training, assistive device testing/prescribing, and reporting to home rehabilitation or neuro team. The work requires good interaction and communication skills with colleagues, other professionals, as well as with patients and relatives. The ability to prioritize and make well-founded decisions is a prerequisite for enjoying the tasks. You will always have colleagues to consult with, and dialogue within the team is central! Work in other departments in the hospital may be included in the tasks. Mentoring physiotherapy students is included.

Qualifications

Licensed physiotherapist with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare.

Meritorious

  • Experience working in a hospital and/or geriatric clinic.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Specialist physiotherapist in a relevant area.
  • Supervisor training (7.5 credits) and experience mentoring physiotherapy students.

  • You are interested in the elderly and acutely multi-sick patient.
  • You have good collaboration skills and can work both independently and in a group.
  • You have the ability to take your own initiatives, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

About the Business

Organizationally, you belong to the Paramedical Section, which consists of about 80 employees distributed across five different units encompassing occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nutrition, and social work. Here, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, and social workers work within most of the hospital's areas of operation, with both inpatient and outpatient care. The unit has a broad competence within each professional group and colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge and experience.
