Psychologist at the Psychology Unit in Region Värmland
The Psychology Unit has several different assignments within Region Värmland, primarily within specialized healthcare for adults and children.
This provides unique opportunities for collegial exchange and to combine different assignments. We are now looking for another colleague who wants to be part of our wonderful team!
Your workplace
The Psychology Unit currently consists of 22 psychologists, of which two are PTP psychologists. We work together to create breadth and depth in the psychological perspective. Today, we mainly work in areas such as neurology and rehabilitation, pediatric medicine, insurance medical investigations, pain rehabilitation, stress-related ill health, post-COVID, and oncology.
As an employee, you belong to the Health and Rehabilitation area, and within the Psychology Unit, you have great opportunities for close collegial support and collaboration with your colleagues.
The position
The position is a permanent employment at 100% and will involve a shared assignment within the Psychology Unit. You will have the opportunity to combine two exciting areas – Insurance Medical Investigations and the Reception for Rehabilitation of Complex Conditions – with a workload of 50% in each assignment.
Your tasks
As a psychologist within the Insurance Medical Investigation Team, you will conduct insurance medical investigations of activity capacity after completing training from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Within the insurance medical assignment, you work in a multidisciplinary team and assess a person's activity capacity, providing the Swedish Social Insurance Agency with the best basis for their decision regarding the person's right to compensation or support. The team also includes doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, coordinators, and medical administrators.
The Reception for Rehabilitation of Complex Conditions involves assessing, investigating, mapping, and in some cases treating patients with complex long-term issues based on a team-based approach. For example, pronounced fatigue/exhaustion, brain fatigue, long-term pain that has not been diagnosed and has not received adequate help previously. The assignment may also include providing a so-called second opinion.
The aim is to reduce patients' need for many healthcare contacts and, when possible, reduce medication use. The interventions should also strengthen self-efficacy, increase quality of life, and, where applicable, contribute to increased work capacity. Patients are then referred to the appropriate level of care. The interventions also aim to improve the living situation for relatives and children.
You will be an important part of a team where different professions – doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical administrators – collaborate closely to offer person-centered, evidence-based care.
The Post-COVID reception is also part of this unit. In your sub-assignment at the Psychology Unit, you will work with psychological assessments within the framework of the unit's other assignments.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for a licensed psychologist. Experience in investigative work, rehabilitative interventions, and ACT as a treatment method is meritorious but not a requirement.
To thrive with us, you need to be able to work independently. In the assignment, you need to be able to work in a structured manner and prioritize your tasks to create the best possible working method.
You use your competence to support both patients and colleagues and are happy to take initiative when needed. Through your empathetic ability, you can understand others' situations and respond to various situations in a professional and secure manner.
