LKAB Malmtrafik

LKAB Malmtrafik is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting LKAB's iron ore products on the Malmbanan railway. We transport from the mines in Kiruna and Malmberget to the ports in Luleå and Narvik, as well as to SSAB in Luleå.

Your Role

As a train driver with us, you will be part of our whole and contribute to keeping our high-tech mining and mineral group running. You will primarily drive our IORE locomotives and freight trains (Europe's heaviest) along the Malmbanan on our southern route between Malmberget and Luleå port. Your workday will also include tasks such as shunting, departure inspection, train setup preparation, and brake testing of our wagons. The position is based in Gällivare and does not offer the possibility of weekly commuting. However, we assist with relocation costs and housing.

What You Bring

You work independently and enjoy solitary work, but also collaborate with others to solve problems that may arise in the role of train driver. You are responsible and always prioritize safety, and you are used to working solution-focused and driven by a desire to learn more. We believe in you and your capacity and give you both trust and freedom to develop and grow. Additionally, you have:

• Valid train driver certificate
• Approved high school education
• Driver's license (B)
• Type certificate for IORE (meritorious)
• Trained locomotive instructor or driving teacher (meritorious)

Full-time with irregular shift work and night shifts. A rolling 6-week schedule with 2 weeks off. We do not offer a compressed schedule.
