F 21 is looking for a civilian material officer for the air base troop in Jokkmokk

Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21, is Sweden's northernmost air wing. The main base is in Luleå, with secondary bases in Jokkmokk and Vidsel. F 21's mission is to deliver air operational effect through the combat aircraft squadrons and JAS39. F 21 has one of the world's largest air exercise areas used by both Swedish Air Force units and units from other countries.

The air base troop Jokkmokk is part of the R3 company, which is a part of Norrbotten Air Force Wing F 21. The company is responsible for the operation of three airports, one of which operates 24/7, all year round.

The main task of the air base troop is to conduct field maintenance services such as snow removal, ice control, and wildlife diversion. Other tasks include repairing damage to runways or other surfaces, fieldwork, and clearing unexploded ammunition.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with good social skills and flexibility, who is careful and responsible as the position often involves working independently and in a small unit. Regardless of background, it is important that you are a team player, with good collaboration skills with both superiors and subordinates. Being proactive, resourceful, and able to work under pressure is essential for the unit to function.

Your employment will begin with basic training for the position, and after that, you will continue to develop through training where you can choose to deepen your knowledge in the many areas of competence of the air base troop.

Main tasks

The main task of the material officer is to create conditions for the air base troop to operate by planning corrective and preventive maintenance on the troop's vehicles and materials.

• Support training in material and vehicle services
• Operational role in handling sudden failures and material/vehicle issues during ongoing airport operations
• Contact and follow-up with military and civilian workshops and maintenance locations
• Ordering materials, repairs, and other needs
• Material and vehicle management
• If necessary, support field maintenance services with snow removal

You will also undergo combat training during your employment and maintain these skills through repetition and practice throughout the year at selected times.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Good knowledge of the Swedish language
• Good computer skills
• Driving license category B

• High learning ability due to intensive training and exercises
• High flexibility as the training and operational environment is often dynamic

Meritorious

• Experience working at an airport
• Knowledge, experience, and interest in construction machinery
• C, CE or military driver's license for heavy truck and trailer
• Wheel loader according to TYA/BYN or military driver's license
• Experience working in the PRIO system
• Experience in administration/administrative tasks
• Instructor competencies within R3's area of work
• Military basic training

Employment form: Permanent, the Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

The position may occasionally involve work at another airport

Civil position

Travel within the position occurs, follow-up tests for FM FysS are conducted annually.
