F21 is looking for a civil airport worker for the Air Base Troop F 21 Jokkmokk

Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21, is Sweden's northernmost air wing. The main base is in Luleå, with secondary bases in Jokkmokk and Vidsel. F 21's mission is to deliver air operational effect through the combat aircraft divisions and JAS39. F 21 has one of the world's largest air exercise areas used by both Swedish Air Force units and units from other countries.

The Air Base Troop Jokkmokk is part of the R3 Company, which is a part of Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21. The company is responsible for the operation of three airports, one of which operates around the clock, every day of the year.

The main task of the Air Base Troop is to conduct airfield maintenance services such as snow removal, ice control, and wildlife deterrence. Other tasks include repairing damage to runways or other surfaces, fieldwork, and clearing unexploded ammunition.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with good social skills and flexibility; you are careful and responsible as the position often requires you to work independently and in a smaller unit. Regardless of background, it is important that you are a team player, and good cooperation with both superiors and subordinates is a given. Being proactive, resourceful, and able to work under pressure is essential for the unit to function.

Main responsibilities

  • Operational airport service at Jokkmokk airport, including airfield maintenance services and other tasks assigned to an airport function
  • Supervision of conscripted airfield maintenance soldiers
  • Military training activities, maintaining competence and physical status

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Driving license category B
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language

Meritorious qualifications

  • Knowledge, experience, and interest in construction machinery
  • Experience in the care and maintenance of vehicles and machinery
  • Driving license category C, CE or equivalent military driving license
  • Wheel loader certification according to TYA/BUN or equivalent military driving license
  • Military driving license for heavy trailers, towed vehicles, wheel loaders, wheel tractors, excavators
  • Experience in airfield maintenance/airport operations
  • Grader according to TYA
  • Overhead crane according to TYA
  • Military basic training

Your personal qualities are characterized by great accuracy, teamwork, responsibility, and the ability to work independently.

  • High learning ability due to intensive training and exercises
  • High flexibility as the training and operational environment is often dynamic

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment form: Permanent, the Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time 100%

The position may occasionally involve work at another airport

Civil position

Travel within the service occurs, follow-up tests for FM FysS are conducted annually.
