LKAB Malmtrafik

LKAB Malmtrafik is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting LKAB's iron ore products on the Malmbanan. We transport from the mines in Kiruna and Malmberget to the ports in Luleå and Narvik, as well as to SSAB in Luleå.

Your role

As a train driver with us, you become part of our whole and contribute to our high-tech mining and mineral group moving forward. As a train driver in Kiruna, you mainly drive our IORE locomotives on the northern loop, along the Malmbanan and Ofotbanen between Kiruna and Narvik. Your workday also includes tasks such as shunting, departure inspections, train preparation, and brake testing of our wagons. The position is based in Kiruna and does not offer the possibility of weekly commuting. However, we assist with relocation costs and housing.

What you bring with you

You work independently and enjoy solitary work, but also collaborate with others to solve problems that may arise in the work of a train driver. You are responsible and always prioritize safety, and you are used to working solution-focused and driven by a desire to learn more. We believe in you and your capacity and give you both trust and freedom to develop and grow. We expect you to have:

• Train driver's license
• Approved high school and train driver examination
• Driving license B
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you:

• Are a trained locomotive instructor or driving teacher
• Have locomotive type certification for IORE

Scope: Full-time with irregular shifts and night work. A rolling 6-week schedule with 2 weeks off. We do not offer a compressed schedule.
