Uret.se was founded in 2006 and is today Scandinavia's largest online watch store. Our business for pre-owned watches is operated through UretVintage.se, where we buy, quality assure, and sell quality watches online.

We are now looking for a watchmaking assistant/apprentice for our watchmaking shop in Kalmar who wants to work closely with our watchmakers and gradually develop within the craft.

About the position

As a watchmaking assistant/apprentice, you will work behind the scenes preparing, checking, and documenting watches before they proceed to service, renovation, or sale.

The position is suitable for you who are very meticulous, enjoy structure, and want to learn the profession in practice under supervision.

Responsibilities

– Receiving and registering incoming watches

– Basic functional checks according to established routines

– Visual inspection of condition (case, bracelet, bezel, dial, glass) and documentation

– Cleaning and preparing watches for service, photography, and sale

– Handling of boxes, certificates, and accessories

– Logistics regarding parts and deliveries

– Simpler tasks in the watchmaking shop as you develop, under the supervision of watchmakers

– Preparatory tasks for polishing and simpler polishing work under supervision

We are looking for someone who

– Is extremely meticulous, methodical, and responsible

– Enjoys working in a structured way and following routines and checklists

– Has patience and an interest in fine mechanics and details

– Is unpretentious and wants to contribute to the team's common results

– Masters Swedish or English in speech and writing

Preferred, but not required

– Experience in fine mechanics, electronics, instrument service, jewelry, or similar

– Interest in watches and understanding of condition, originality, and details

– Experience with documentation, photography, or quality control work
