The Oncology Clinic at Gävle Hospital is part of a regional mission that includes advanced medical treatment for cancer patients in Gästrikland, Hälsingland, and northern Uppland. We are part of the oncology department, which also includes radiation therapy, inpatient care, and a palliative team. Research is a central part of our work, and we have a clinical trial unit that allows patients to access the latest treatments while contributing to the development of future care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you will be an important part of an engaged team where we support each other and work closely to ensure everyone feels secure in their role. The role is both independent and varied - you will meet patients at different stages of their treatment and make a difference every day. You will be there in difficult moments but also share hope, joy, and successful treatments with patients.

You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on treatments and care interventions in collaboration with doctors and other professionals. Weekend duty every 5-6 weekends in the oncology inpatient unit 17 is included in the position.

Your main responsibilities:

• patient reception and treatment planning
• follow-up of treatments and symptom management
• telephone advice and support for patients and relatives
• chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• collaboration with other units within and outside the hospital.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with people and naturally collaborates with both colleagues and patients. You plan and organize your work clearly, which creates security and continuity. With a responsive and engaged approach, you build trust with patients and relatives. You are flexible, take responsibility in changing situations, and actively contribute to developing both working methods and the quality of the organization.

In the role of nurse, you must be:

• a licensed nurse.

It is an advantage if you have experience in oncological care and administering medical oncological treatment. A probationary period may apply.
