Valmet is looking for a Mechanical Designer for their Tissue Machine Engineering department in Karlstad, which consists of 50 colleagues. Here, they specialize in mechanical design concerning machines for paper production (Tissue) for customers worldwide.

💼 Responsibilities

In the role of Mechanical Designer, you will work on several projects simultaneously with other colleagues. Your main tasks include creating drawings in the CAD program Catia, as well as technical documentation for purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly of customers' Tissue machines. You will also participate in product development and ongoing improvements as well as maintenance of components and solutions.

You are part of a group that includes roles in mechanical design and technical project management. The role has a close connection to both production and pre-assembly, giving you a unique overall view of the final product in your daily work. There are excellent development opportunities, both within design and roles related to customer projects. As a designer, you will also have the opportunity to deepen your expertise and eventually take responsibility for specific machine sections or components. Travel in the position may occur.

We also prefer that you have:

• A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical design

• Several years of relevant work experience, preferably in mechanical design

• Experience from the paper or process industry is an advantage, alternatively from technical product design or manufacturing processes

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
