At the eye clinic, we meet patients with virtually all types of eye diseases that we diagnose and treat at the clinic.

We provide both outpatient and inpatient care and consist of clinics, operating departments, care places at other clinics, and a vision center. We provide regional healthcare to residents in the central and western parts of Östergötland - and highly specialized care to patients from Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland counties.

Job Description

As new with us, you will receive an individual introduction where you will have good opportunities for further development and variation. The day surgery care is conducted from the pre- and post-operative departments, and most of our newly operated patients can go home the same day after a few hours of monitoring in the eye surgery department. We have a close collaboration with surgical and anesthesia staff, and patients come up to the pre- and post-operative department directly after surgery. Sedated patients are monitored in our post-operative recovery room for about an hour.

In the evenings and Saturdays, except Sundays, we also receive urgent eye patients who need to see the on-call doctor. In addition to working in the eye clinic's pre- and post-operative department, you will also be introduced to work in, among others, PolOp (Outpatient Surgery) and IVT (Intravitreal Injection), where you work in a team with nurses/doctors.

The pre- and post-operative department is open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 19:00 and Saturdays from 07:00 to 17:00. Surgeries take place between 07:00 and 17:00, with on-call duty on Saturdays and Sundays from 07:00 to 19:00.

About You

You are a trained healthcare assistant with a focus on emergency care. Experience in pre- and post-operative care or inpatient care is an advantage. We prefer that you have previous experience working in Cosmic. Since you will be communicating with patients, relatives, colleagues, and in some cases authorities, it is a requirement that you have good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form.

You use knowledge, skills, and abilities in interaction during patient meetings or care situations.
