About the Organization

Regional laboratory medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, area 4, and has a clear coordination mission for the entire Västra Götaland region. The organization consists of the laboratory medicine operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, the Western Hospitals, and NU Healthcare.

The unit's laboratories are located at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås and Skene and have a total of about 60 employees (biomedical analysts, nursing assistants, chemists, IT, and administrative staff).

The smaller laboratory in Skene is staffed during the day, while operations in Borås run around the clock. With us, you will work in modern facilities in an automated high-tech laboratory.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with sample handling and analysis work and have the opportunity to use your knowledge and develop in many interesting areas. We have a wide range of analyses within several processes such as hematology, coagulation, general chemistry, immunochemistry, proteins, allergies, medications, and drugs.

About You

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a natural science field, such as a biomedical scientist, medical biologist, or chemist. Previous experience in laboratory diagnostics and work in an accredited environment is an advantage.

The work requires you to be structured and quality-conscious. You have the ability to independently take responsibility for tasks while also having good collaboration skills and contributing to a positive work environment. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
