The Surgical Clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset in Norrköping (ViN) is part of the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cancer Care (CKOC) in Östergötland.

The clinic has a care department, department 10, with 32 care places. There is both a planned and an acute intake of patients with surgical and urological diseases, as well as a reception where we receive and investigate patients for colon cancer, skin changes, esophageal diseases, and obesity.

Job Description

The operations within the surgical clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset are focused on diagnostics and treatment of diseases in the gastrointestinal tract, other acute abdominal conditions, and trauma. The clinic also has a urological unit. The clinic conducts both acute and planned operations.

In your daily tasks, you will assist and work together with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare personnel regarding patients who have or will undergo surgeries or have been admitted acutely with various surgical diseases. You will train transfers and go through training programs with patients and train patients during their stay. You will also write reports for handovers and provide information and advice to patients.

Work Group

You will work with our physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, dietitians, and social workers in a team-based approach regarding the hospitalized patients. Guidance and introduction will be provided by the regular physiotherapist at the clinic, and there will be a regular physiotherapist on duty for supervision throughout the summer.

About You

You are studying to become a physiotherapist and have completed semester 4 or semester 5 by June 2026 and have completed an approved clinical placement in acute somatic inpatient care.

Experience with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage but not a requirement.

As a person, you are stable and easily adaptable to different situations, and you have very good collaboration skills.

You work independently, plan, organize, and prioritize effectively. We see that you have a positive and professional attitude in your work, where the patient is the focus.

As you will communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues, it is important that you have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.
