Ophthalmic Nurse/Nurse at the Eye Clinic

At the eye clinic, we meet patients with virtually all types of eye diseases that are diagnosed and treated at the clinic.

We provide both outpatient and inpatient care through clinics, surgical departments, care places at another clinic, as well as vision centers. We offer regional healthcare to residents in the central and western parts of Östergötland, and highly specialized care to patients from Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland counties.

Eye surgery in Linköping is part of the eye clinic. Here, specialized and highly specialized eye surgery is performed both under general anesthesia and local anesthesia. We perform cataract surgery, vitreous and retinal surgeries, corneal transplants, pressure-lowering surgeries for glaucoma, strabismus surgeries, and extraocular surgeries.

Job Description

Welcome to an environment where engagement and development are two strong driving forces. Our work is characterized by close collaboration where an efficient patient flow and focus on patient safety always come first. As an ophthalmic nurse/nurse, you work in a team together with anesthesiologists, anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, surgical nurses, and surgeons. There is also the opportunity to have different areas of responsibility; if interested, there is currently a chance to work with CPR and/or deviation management/coordinating combined with the core profession. Planned surgical activities take place during the day from Monday to Friday. Every 5th weekend, during the day, you have scheduled on-call duty at home.

About You

You are an ophthalmic nurse/nurse with a focus on surgical nursing, and it is an advantage if you have worked in eye care. Other qualifications in relevant or related fields are also advantageous. Previous experience in the specialty area is preferred but not a requirement. Experience in relevant or related fields is also advantageous.

Since you must be able to communicate with patients, colleagues, relatives, and sometimes authorities, it is important that you have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.
