Nurse for the Recovery Department in Gävle

The Recovery Department in Gävle offers postoperative care, 24/7, to patients of all ages. We have both planned and acute patient flows. Patients come from all surgical operations, which means everything from shorter procedures requiring minimal postoperative care to more advanced surgeries requiring postoperative intermediate care. The diversity makes our work very varied and stimulating. The largest proportion of patients come from the central surgery in Gävle.

In our department, we are about 30 employees working together to provide the best possible postoperative care. The work is characterized by short hospital stays in a technical work environment. We are a modern recovery department under constant development with a strong focus on patient safety, high quality, and a good working environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you will work in a team with other nurses, both registered and specialist nurses, nursing assistants, and anesthesiologists.

As a nurse, you will work with:

• patients with varying levels of postoperative monitoring needs
• assessment and actions according to A-E
• observations of patients focusing on breathing, circulation, and pain
• assessing, administering, and evaluating medications
• varying flows of patients of all ages.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to develop and sees opportunities in change. You have the ability to see the big picture and take responsibility for your tasks, as well as being able to plan how they should be executed independently. As a person, you are calm and stable and have the ability to remain calm in pressured situations.

In the role of nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse
• have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Experience in postoperative work is an advantage but not a requirement.
