Upplands-Bro municipality is looking for an engaged and competent nurse for our preventive unit for the elderly, with special knowledge in cognitive impairment.

The role is administrative but with a strong operational focus and means that you will be a key person in the work to improve the quality of care for people with cognitive impairment. You will contribute with training, advice, and support to staff, relatives, and patients – thereby making a real difference in people's everyday lives.

About the unit

The preventive unit encompasses three operational areas:

  • Preventive work – efforts to promote health and prevent injuries in the elderly.
  • Safe enhanced homecoming – extra support at discharge from the hospital for a safe return home.
  • Day activities – social activities and engagement for people with cognitive impairment.

The current position is located at the day activities in Kvistaberg, an environment that offers meaningful activities and social interaction for people with cognitive impairment. You will play a central role in developing the operations, monitoring trends and research in the field, and creating meeting places for relatives through lectures and themed meetings.

About the assignment:

As a nurse in the preventive unit, you will:

  • Lead, plan, and evaluate support groups for people with cognitive impairment and their relatives, for example: Conversation groups for people who have recently received a diagnosis. Training initiatives for relatives to strengthen their knowledge and security.
  • Be a driving force in quality work through Star Certified certification and work with the BPSD registry to ensure evidence-based care.
  • Participate in the Dementia-friendly initiative, which spreads knowledge about interaction and creates a more dementia-friendly society.
  • Lead and develop the municipality's dementia coaches to raise competence throughout the organization.
  • Actively contribute to monitoring and implementing new methods and working methods in the area of cognitive impairment/dementia.

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a licensed nurse with further education in the field of dementia.
  • Have the ability to see and meet individual needs with a person-centered approach. Great emphasis is placed on initiative, personal suitability, and good social competence.
  • Have experience leading groups and the ability to create engagement and participation.
  • Have good ability to coordinate, plan, implement, and evaluate initiatives.
  • Have good computer skills are a requirement.
  • Experience in conducting and being responsible for training is an advantage.
  • Further education, such as a Silvia nurse, is an advantage.

About the position

The position is permanent. A probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.
