About the position
We are looking for an engaged and strategic head of department for the Social Administration in Bjuv municipality. As head of department, you have overall responsibility for the entire area of social services, with a particular focus on the mission of individual and family care to provide support, protection, and contribute to change in difficult life situations. You lead the administration with a holistic view and a clear focus on legal security, quality, and social sustainability.
Your main tasks
Your mission is to ensure that the work of social services is based on legislation and political goals. You work to ensure that social services' efforts contribute to strengthening children's living conditions, preventing social vulnerability, and promoting participation and empowerment among the municipality's residents. As head of department, you work closely with the social committee and the municipal director and are part of the municipality's management team. You lead the department's managers and are responsible for ensuring that the operations develop in line with changing needs, new legislation, and demands for effective resource use. An important task moving forward is to continue driving the implementation of the new social services act together with the department.
Bjuv municipality has chosen to organize parts of social services, such as elderly care and care for people with disabilities, in the municipal company Omsorg i Bjuv AB. You therefore have a central role in ensuring close and effective collaboration between the administration and the company so that the needs of residents are met in a cohesive and legally secure manner.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree and documented experience as a manager of other managers, as well as good insight and knowledge of social and care operations.
- Documented experience of leading in a politically governed organization.
- Deep knowledge of social services laws and authority exercise.
- Experience in change management, especially in transition work and development projects.
- Good economic understanding and the ability to work within the framework of a sustainable budget.
- A development-oriented and strategic view of leadership with the ability to translate political goals into operational action plans.
- A strong ability to collaborate and build good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
As a leader, you are clear and communicative and contribute to creating engagement and participation among your employees. Your personal qualities are therefore of great importance. You are results-oriented, decisive, and have the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex situations.
