We are currently looking for a caretaker who wants to contribute with the best service, quality, and development, and who is willing to go the extra mile for our primary schools in the southwest area 3 of Gothenburg.

The MLV (meals, cleaning, and caretaking) operation within the School Administration is responsible for meal services as well as cleaning and caretaking services at our schools. In the Southwest area, caretakers deliver top-class service. Each unit has a meal manager and a cleaning and caretaking manager, with workgroups consisting of about 30 employees.

Job Responsibilities

As a caretaker with us, you have a broad role with varied tasks. This can involve everything from assembly work, changing light sources, repairs, monthly and quarterly fire alarm tests, working with tournaments, and recycling management. The job includes heavy lifting as we assist many operations with moving various items. You work with service and enjoy helping others. It is important for you to have a well-functioning collaboration with schools and colleagues. The work involves responsibility for tasks according to ongoing maintenance routines as well as for reports of faults from schools within your area of responsibility.

It is important that you enjoy the responsibility of being a good adult role model at school. Good communication and collaboration with both students and other adults in the school environment are prerequisites. The City of Gothenburg works with self-service for absence reporting. We use tools from Office365 in our work, primarily email through Outlook, but also Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.

Working hours are daytime according to schedule. On-call duty may occur in connection with tournaments, elections, and other events.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school education and at least 3 years of experience in caretaking, property management, craft professions, or similar. Since the southwest area of Gothenburg is a vast district, the job requires you to drive a car; therefore, you need a driver's license for passenger cars (B) and driving experience. The position also involves some administrative work, so good computer skills are required, as well as proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have craft training, facility management training, or education in property management. Experience in property management and knowledge of Office365, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Word, and Excel are also meritorious.

As a person, you are independent and act on your own based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. You are service-oriented and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you strive to present solutions. The role also requires you to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You have a communicative ability and express the core of an argument clearly and effectively. You are flexible and easily adapt to both people and situations.
