Our goal is for our employees to thrive, grow in their professional roles, and influence their workdays.
The emergency department is the center of events! Here, nurses work in teams alongside nursing assistants to provide the best care for acutely ill and injured patients. There is always a responsible nurse in charge and a close collaboration with doctors. Every team member is important for patient safety in life-critical moments! We perform a variety of interventions for our patients, which means you as an employee learn something new every day. Sometimes it can be very busy, but if you enjoy working hard and want to be there for someone when it matters most, then this is the job for you!
In Region Kronoberg, you can thrive, grow, and make an impact. Together, we work to achieve the vision of "A good life in a vibrant region".
We offer a wide range of employee benefits for those who choose to work within Region Kronoberg. Here are some of the benefits we have to offer:
- Increased OB compensation: If you work unsociable hours, you receive increased OB compensation. The OB compensation is multiplied by 1.5.
- Increased night index: The increased night index is a reduction in working hours for all employees who alternate between day and night work. One hour of night work counts as 1.4 working hours, which means a regular night shift gives about 14 hours. This provides flexibility in your schedule and more time for recovery.
- Exchange vacation days: If you are over 40 years old, you are allocated 31 vacation days. You have the opportunity to exchange any vacation days exceeding 25 for financial compensation.
- Parental benefit supplement: We value your time with family and offer a parental benefit supplement during your parental leave.
- Development opportunities: We offer good development and career opportunities for all employees. We provide, among other things, the opportunity for paid further education for those who want to become specialist nurses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Patients coming to the emergency department are adults of all ages, with different backgrounds and medical conditions. In surgery and orthopedics, we also receive children, which adds further variety to the work. In the emergency department, your role is central in meeting the patients. Here, priorities may need to be made immediately, and we truly make a difference for people when every second counts. The variation of patients and pace means that we often need to prioritize and adapt to new conditions.
Here, checks, assessments, and actions needed during the patient's care time are performed. We also collaborate with other departments and wards within the hospital.
We are proud of our employees and strive for continuous professional development. With us, you can receive:
- AMLS, Advanced Medical Life Support, to identify, address, and manage acutely ill patients.
- ATSS, Acute Trauma Care for Nurses, focusing on the management during the first hour after trauma.
- A-HLR, advanced training for S-HLR.
- X-ray training that includes extended knowledge regarding the examination of extremities to independently write X-ray referrals in case of suspected fractures.
As a new employee in our emergency department, you will receive a solid individualized introduction and a mentor. If you are newly employed in Region Kronoberg, you will also receive a regional introduction. For additional variation and professional development, there is the opportunity for joint service in the acute care department.
