Job Advertisement: Trainee Program for Nurses in Forensic Psychiatry

The Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic is a specialized unit within forensic psychiatry that cares for both women and men, with most of our patients being committed to care by the court. We also receive patients from the correctional system who need psychiatric care and treatment. We cover all of Sweden as our catchment area. The clinic is divided into blocks with departments focusing on different areas. There is an opportunity to work in the area that you find particularly interesting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The trainee program lasts for 12 weeks and provides you as a nurse with a unique opportunity to gain broad knowledge and practical experience working with patients with mental disabilities in various forms of care. Do you find it interesting to gain a deeper understanding of psychiatric care work? Then the trainee program is for you!

We offer you:

• Placement within round-the-clock care in three different departments where you will gain insight into several different care processes in various care units.
• Independent work with support from experienced nurses at each workplace. You will work alongside regular staff and thus always have a regular nurse as a colleague.
• Weekly supervision by a doctoral psychiatric nurse during the trainee period, as well as access to lectures.
• Permanent employment within Forensic Psychiatry.
• There is also an opportunity to apply for paid further education to become a specialist nurse in psychiatric care.
• After completing the trainee program, a more department-specific introduction can still be offered, which is done in consultation with the responsible department manager.

During the trainee program, you will work with the employer to plan which department you will continue your service in.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is:

• A licensed nurse.
• Engaged in your work and contributes to a good working atmosphere.
• Proactive and skilled at creating and maintaining good contacts.
• Adaptable to current situations and enjoys a rich and varied day.
