Temporary Position as a Teacher in Primary School at Tomtebogård

Tomtebogård consists of a preschool with four departments and a school for grades F–3.

Tomtebogård is located in Tomtebo in the eastern part of Umeå, close to nature by the shore of Nydalasjön. Here, over 240 students in the school and 60 children in the preschool play and learn. The units have a natural and close collaboration between teachers, preschool teachers, leisure educators, and childcare workers. Tomtebogård school is one of Umeå municipality's training schools, which means that during the school year, it hosts teacher students for their practical training, VFU.

Employment Type

The position is a temporary part-time role (80%) from March 2, 2026, to June 18, 2026.

Job Responsibilities

Your task as a primary school teacher is to plan teaching based on the curriculum but also to make a more comprehensive planning together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze teaching as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' goal fulfillment. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's knowledge development and sometimes, individually or together with a colleague, have mentoring responsibilities.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary teaching based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teaching role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Teaching certification and eligibility for grades F-3
• Experience teaching challenging groups
• Valid extract from the criminal record
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing

Meritorious

• Experience working in the relevant grade
• Education and experience in teaching physical education and health
• Experience working with children and young people
