The position is located within the Care and Social Services Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Care and Social Services Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health and medical care, authority exercise, ordering of services, and operates care and social services independently. We work with quality awareness and professionalism to make every day as good as possible for the residents of Linköping who need us. Do you want to improve the everyday life, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important tasks with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!
Your Tasks
Starting from March 1, 2026, Linköping Municipality, Care and Social Services Administration, will take over the operation of Garnisonen's nursing home.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing person-centered care and who wants to contribute to a meaningful everyday life for our residents. If you have experience in dementia care and/or short-term care and are driven by seeing each individual's unique needs, you may be the right person for us. Your work is an important piece in creating a meaningful existence with a focus on health and well-being. By working with IBIC (Individual Needs in Center), a salutogenic approach, and national values, you highlight and strengthen the individual's own abilities.
As a nursing assistant/caregiver with us, you will have a varied role where you are responsible for both care and social tasks. You assist with everything from transfers and personal hygiene to household chores and medical interventions. As a contact person, you plan the days for several residents based on their specific needs and wishes. You maintain close contact with relatives, participate in welcome conversations, and work on establishing and revising implementation plans. You also collaborate with other actors to ensure the best possible care.
A large part of your work involves planning and conducting activities that promote well-being. We believe that creativity and engagement make every day special for our residents, and only imagination sets the limits! We welcome your own ideas and initiatives that can enrich our residents' lives. Your contribution is invaluable in creating a safe and stimulating environment every day.
Your Workplace
Welcome to Garnisonen's nursing home, a residence focused on short-term and dementia care! Here we are close to both the city center and beautiful nature. There are good bus connections, making it easy to get here. The residence consists of 40 apartments, divided into four departments: three for short-term care and one for dementia care. Of these, 30 places are intended for short-term accommodation and 10 for people with dementia.
Short-term care receives individuals with varying medical needs and diagnoses. The length of stay can vary, and the work can sometimes be intense with pressured situations requiring quick interventions. Dementia care is a permanent accommodation form for individuals with dementia diseases. Here we provide long-term support and care tailored to each individual's needs.
Upon takeover on March 1, we will work together to build new routines and structures. This means you need to be flexible and have an open mindset. We strive for you to be able to work in different departments and collaborate across boundaries in the future, creating a dynamic and varied work environment. As an employee at Garnisonen, you will have contact person responsibilities and act as a representative in areas such as hygiene, aids, and nutrition. We work with implementation plans and documentation in Epsilon/Wellfare, a planning tool that helps us structure the day. You will actively participate in shaping our new structure.
The working hours for employees working day, evening, and weekend vary. Morning shifts: start at 06:45, 07:00, or 07:30. Evening shifts: start at 13:00 or 16:00, ending no later than 21:15. Working hours for employees working nights on weekdays and weekends are 21:00-07:00.
We place great importance on a good work environment. Together, we will establish clear rules. We have regular meetings such as APT and work environment groups, as well as a separate cooperation council exclusively for employees where you can raise important issues. There is close collaboration between management and employees, focusing on always providing the best possible care. We encourage you to develop and take on responsibilities.
Our team includes two managers, coordinators, nurses, nursing assistants, and rehabilitation staff.
You Who Apply
We are looking for someone who has a completed high school education, preferably as a nursing assistant, and experience in care and social services. In your role, you will have close contact with our residents and their relatives, so it is important that you enjoy building good relationships. We value your competence and would like you to have knowledge of short-term care or dementia diseases. It is also a great plus if you have experience with IBIC, a salutogenic approach, low-arousal response, the National Values of the National Board of Health and Welfare, and BPSD administrator.
You need to have good knowledge of Swedish and be accustomed to working with digital tools for documentation and record-keeping, and it is advantageous if you have worked in digital systems such as Epsilon, Wellfare, or Treserva.
As a person, you are self-sufficient, responsible, and attentive. You easily build good relationships and communicate clearly with residents, relatives, and colleagues. Your empathetic ability and willingness to collaborate are crucial in creating a safe and pleasant environment. Welcome to become a part of our team!
