We are looking for a solution-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to an R&D team focused on large electric motors and generators. The assignment is located in Västerås and involves working in a technically advanced environment where innovation, quality, and collaboration are key. The start date is February 9th, with an initial duration of 5 months.

You will work on the mechanical design of rotating machines and contribute throughout the development chain – from concept to finished product.

Your responsibilities:

• Mechanical design in R&D projects focusing on rotating machines

• Develop and implement technical solutions based on your own ideas and analyses

• Take technical ownership from the concept phase to the final solution

• Independently identify and solve technical and industrial problems

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in mechanics, electrical, production, and testing

• Follow and contribute to technical and scientific development within your area of expertise

Qualifications (mandatory)

• Several years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Very good knowledge of CAD, preferably in the company's NX system.

• Strong background in mechanical design

• Ability to work independently and take technical responsibility

• Good collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams

Meritorious:

• Experience in the design of rotating machines

• Knowledge of lubrication and bearing systems

• Experience from an R&D environment in the industry
