We are looking for a solution-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to an R&D team focused on large electric motors and generators. The assignment is located in Västerås and involves working in a technically advanced environment where innovation, quality, and collaboration are key. The start date is February 9th, with an initial duration of 5 months.
You will work on the mechanical design of rotating machines and contribute throughout the development chain – from concept to finished product.
Your responsibilities:
Mechanical design in R&D projects focusing on rotating machines
Develop and implement technical solutions based on your own ideas and analyses
Take technical ownership from the concept phase to the final solution
Independently identify and solve technical and industrial problems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in mechanics, electrical, production, and testing
Follow and contribute to technical and scientific development within your area of expertise
Qualifications (mandatory)
Several years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
Very good knowledge of CAD, preferably in the company's NX system.
Strong background in mechanical design
Ability to work independently and take technical responsibility
Good collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams
Meritorious:
Experience in the design of rotating machines
Knowledge of lubrication and bearing systems
Experience from an R&D environment in the industry
