The Community Building Administration is responsible for catering and cleaning, land development, urban planning and building permits, parks and green areas, streets, water, and waste. Here, over 300 employees work together to make Ystad a great municipality to live, work, and thrive in.

The Parks Unit is responsible for the maintenance and care of the municipality's parks, natural areas, and urban-adjacent forests. We also take care of the external environment around schools, daycare centers, and other municipally owned properties. The Parks Unit has 21 year-round employees. For the 2025 season, we need to strengthen our team with park workers who will work on green space maintenance in our parks and green areas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operation and maintenance of park facilities, schools, playgrounds, bathing areas, and other outdoor environments.

Job duties include lawn mowing, hedge trimming, clearing, weeding, pruning, property maintenance (exterior), watering, planting summer flowers, shrubs, and trees, and some cleaning of parks, beaches, and docks. A maintenance job, with work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.

As a Park Worker, you will work both independently and in a team. We place great emphasis on ensuring that assigned tasks are completed correctly in terms of time, quality, and safety. A genuine interest in greenery and a proactive attitude are highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a gardening education from a horticultural high school or vocational college, alternatively a vocational certificate in green space maintenance or other gardening education deemed equivalent by the employer. Documented experience in the profession can be assessed as equivalent.

Practical experience in the profession is a requirement.

A B driver's license is a requirement. Experience driving a tractor is a plus.

Since you need to read instructions and communicate with colleagues, you must be fluent in Swedish. As a person, you are meticulous, service-oriented, and have good collaboration skills. You need to be able to work in a team but also independently when needed. As there may be heavy lifting, you need to be in good physical condition.

It is advantageous if you have approved and certified qualification training in:
