Medical services provide support and service to the healthcare system in Skåne. Our services range from laboratory medicine and medical technology to assignments in pre-hospital care and research. We have approximately 2,100 employees in the administration.

Laboratory Medicine Base is a specialty-independent and growing area within the administration. We provide diagnostics to support care and treatment and conduct a broad and high-tech operation within the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical immunology, and transfusion medicine, as well as sample collection and functional examinations. Our operations will expand further in the coming years to adapt the diagnostic offerings to future healthcare needs. We have recently moved into the new hospital in Malmö and have brand new facilities and access to all the new technology that the new hospital offers. To maintain quality and competence, we continuously collaborate with other areas within the administration and have close cooperation with both managers, process leaders, and doctors within these specialties. Together, we actively work on the development and improvement of methods, flows, and processes to create competitiveness tailored to the future needs of healthcare. Our mission includes, in addition to diagnostics, also consultancy services for healthcare, training of, among others, doctors and biomedical analysts, and collaboration with universities on current research and development projects. Our operations also include the area of Imaging and Laboratory Technology, which is responsible for medical technology safety.

Our operations are conducted in nine locations in Skåne and consist of over 500 employees, where the largest personnel category is biomedical analysts. We also employ biomedical scientists, administrators, nursing assistants, and nurses. Together, we send out approximately 17 million test results annually.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At our Sampling unit in Malmö, you will be offered a broad and varied job in a wonderful work environment where we all help each other and take care of one another.

Your job responsibilities include, among others:

• work within functional examinations for kidney function
• glucose tolerance testing
• venipuncture on adults
• pre-analytical sample handling
• reception work
• referral registration
• assessment and technical approval of analyses
• instrument responsibility, including continuous monitoring of analysis quality
• establishment and updating of governing documents
• troubleshooting technical problems
• taking necessary actions in case of deviating control results
• contact with customers regarding inquiries
• supervision of students and new colleagues
• reporting and documenting disturbances and deviations in work routines and operations.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in sample collection and functional examinations.
