We need reinforcement in our GIS work – are you our new GIS officer?

The Environmental Administration is looking for a GIS officer with documented experience in GIS environments and systems.

The position has a close operational focus and includes the development, management, and operation of the administration's existing GIS solutions used in regulatory activities, collaboration, and internal business development.

You will be part of the Environmental Administration's IT/GIS function where you, together with colleagues, are responsible for ensuring stable operation, continuity, and long-term management of the administration's GIS environment.

As a GIS officer, you will be responsible for quality assurance, management, and further development of the Environmental Administration's GIS support in close collaboration with the operations, where we use QGIS, PostGIS, and GeoServer as well as FME and FME Server for data extraction, transformation, automation, and quality assurance.

As a GIS officer with us, you will build, publish, and manage WMS/WFS services for internal and external use. Work with integrations and data flows between the web map, operational systems, and other data sources. Your tasks include monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting data flows, services, and integrations, as well as managing administrative functions and settings in the administration's web map Gisela. You will develop, manage, and update GIS layers and drawing tools for our mapping service for handling cases and objects. It also includes performing GIS analyses and quality controls of geographic information.

You will, if necessary, participate in projects and development efforts where GIS is used to support the business processes, and through your work, you will contribute to reduced vulnerability through redundancy, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

About You

We are looking for someone with relevant education in the field (university/college), experience as described in the position, and experience in operational GIS work within regulatory activities.

You have a good understanding of the management and operation of GIS environments and the ability to work independently to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot the entire GIS chain.
