Boliden is a high-tech metal company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to ensure society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.
Your role
As a mine surveyor, you play a central role in creating conditions for efficient and safe production work. The work is varied and consists of both practical tasks underground and analytical work above ground. Underground, you are responsible for measuring rock spaces, setting out reference points that enable navigation for production drilling, and marking diamond drill holes for prospecting. You follow up on volumes and ensure correct data for production. Above ground, you process and analyze collected measurement data and update mine maps to support planning and quality monitoring. The role is based in Kankberg but involves work in both Kankberg and Renström mines.
To fit this role, we see that you combine accuracy with a strong drive and curiosity. You have an analytical ability that makes you not just accept data – you question and ensure that everything is correct. You thrive on taking your own initiatives and working independently while appreciating good collaboration. You enjoy being in a central role where you act as the spider in the web between different functions. Flexibility is a given for you, and you see changes as opportunities.
Your team
You are part of our mining planning sections in Kankberg and Renström. Within mining planning, there are mine surveying, geology, production planning, long-term planning, and diamond drilling. In your role, you work closely with colleagues in mine surveying, other parts of the section, and production. Together, we create conditions for safe and efficient mining operations, where your expertise becomes an important piece of the puzzle in the whole.
Your tasks
- Measurement of rock extraction
- Setting out for production and preparation
- Maintenance and updating of mine maps
- Quality monitoring of mining operations
- Conduct post-calculations and production monitoring
Your contribution
- University or college education in geodesy and surveying technology, or a high school diploma combined with relevant work experience
- Experience with total stations, LiDAR scanning, and CAD programs
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English
- Driving license B
Previous experience in underground operations and knowledge and experience with the CAD program Deswik is a merit.
