Mechanical Designer

About the Company

Komab is an engineering consulting company with the goal of helping our clients from idea to delivery, whether it involves smaller interventions or comprehensive commitments. We have extensive experience in mechanics, electrical/automation, and facilities for the mining, wood, and steel industries. We understand how these industries operate and the demands placed on technology and machinery, which allows us to both lead the project and deliver the technology.

Here you will find the locally owned company, consisting of 15 employees, located in new and fresh premises in central Skellefteå. As consultants, we also spend a significant amount of our time out with clients. We believe in the team before the individual. The entire team meets regularly to review our progress in projects, goals, and how we will continue to develop.

Your Responsibilities

As a mechanical designer, you will be responsible for creating and delivering mechanical design and development based on customer requirements. The assignments vary in both scope and nature. They can include everything from working with component specifications to facility design, and more. Our clients have high demands for functionality and sustainability, which in turn places high demands on our ability to think innovatively and deliver quality solutions.

You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored design solutions.

Your Background/Your Qualities

We are looking for someone with an engineering degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience gained in another way. You likely have a few years of experience in similar tasks. Being able to communicate in English is a given for us, but it is a plus if you also have good communication skills in Swedish. Experience with various CAD systems and familiarity with using PDM systems is advantageous.

As a person, we believe you possess many positive qualities, and it is important for us that you have strong social skills, as you will represent the company to clients and partners in your role as a consultant. You are creative and curious with a strong internal drive. It comes naturally for you to take initiative, and you are motivated by being part of moving the company forward.
