"The best part of being a driving examiner is when you get to say: Congratulations, your driving is approved, and to see the relief and smile of the customer after all the hard work to reach their goal" shares one of our employees. We are now looking for dedicated colleagues for the Driving Test Office in Eskilstuna!
Do you want to work with driving licenses and people? Become a Driving Examiner!
Job ResponsibilitiesAre you ready to make a difference in people's lives? As a driving examiner (traffic inspector) at the Swedish Transport Administration, you have a unique opportunity to contribute to a safer traffic environment in Sweden.
In the role of a driving examiner, you play a key role where you conduct nine driving tests a day and assess whether the license applicant has the knowledge and skills needed to pass the test and become a safe driver on our roads. You work independently and meet many different people every day. Your friendly demeanor and ability to make decisions in pressured situations are crucial for creating a safe atmosphere during the test. As a driving examiner, you also have a governmental assignment, which means you need to be able to explain and communicate decisions in a simple and clear way after each driving test. This also means that you value diversity and respect every person, regardless of background.
Your journey begins with a one-year paid basic training. Since you will be handling a lot of information, your ability to absorb and convey theory is important. The position also includes travel to our reception locations in Katrineholm and Flen. It is important that you, as an applicant, are aware that the requirements for your driving are higher than for someone taking their driving test. Since you will be assessing other drivers' traffic safety, you need to demonstrate a secure, stable, and well-developed driving style where you handle both traffic and complex situations correctly.
"The Swedish Transport Administration feels like a secure employer. It feels good that they invest in me so I can succeed in my profession and take care of our customers" says one of our trainees.
Additional InformationTo become a driving examiner, you will undergo approximately one year of basic training with both practical and theoretical components. The training starts in week 36, and you will be employed as a trainee at that time. Please read more about the training weeks, what the position entails, and what you need to consider before the driving test at: Work as a Driving Examiner - www.trafikverket.se. If you need to upload your diploma or driving license later, you can do so via My Career Page (https://www.trafikverket.se/logga-in/#min_karriarsida), but no later than the application deadline.
