Guides Wanted for Eketorp Fortress Summer 2026

Do you want to inspire, tell stories, and guide visitors through one of Sweden's most unique historical sites? Eketorp Fortress is looking for dedicated guides for the summer of 2026.

Eketorp Fortress is operated by Mörbylånga Municipality and is a cultural historical destination on southern Öland.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a guide, you will be responsible for daily tours of Eketorp Fortress, where you will convey the history of the fortress in a lively and educational manner. Tours will be conducted in both Swedish and English and tailored to different target groups, from families with children to international visitors.

In addition to guiding, you will be part of the daily operations at the fortress and contribute to a lively and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include joint activities such as archery, crafts, and bread baking, light cleaning, feeding and supervising the fortress's animals, as well as support at the entrance and shop and oversight of the cultural historical environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are confident speaking in front of groups, have good pedagogical skills, and a service-oriented attitude. You enjoy meeting people and have an interest in history, cultural heritage, and learning. English is a requirement, and other languages are a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The position is a seasonal employment during the period of June-August 2026 with work according to a schedule. There is the possibility of extra work during spring and autumn in connection with special events. A driver's license is an asset. During the employment period, there is an opportunity to rent accommodation near Eketorp Fortress at a favorable cost. Introduction and training will take place during joint training days on June 15-16.
