Assistant Nurse for Psychiatric Department Ytterö

Stockholm County's Healthcare Area, SLSO, is forming a new operation - Psychosis Care Stockholm, where all outpatient clinics and inpatient wards for patients with psychotic disorders will be gathered within the new operation.

About Psychiatric Department Ytterö

At Psychiatric Department Ytterö, inpatient care is primarily focused on psychosis. Ytterö receives patients from acute conditions to those admitted via outpatient care or self-admission. The department also accepts patients from all over Stockholm as long as there is space available. Here, a dedicated team works where patient-centered inpatient care for individuals with psychiatric issues is at the core. To ensure quality and equitable care, the interventions for the patient are guided by diagnosis-specific care process maps tailored to the individual needs of the patient. The department employs assistant nurses, registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, and doctors working together. The unit is beautifully located next to Lake Magelungen near Farsta Centrum. Public transport is easily accessible, and there are parking spaces for employees.

Your Role as an Assistant Nurse

As an assistant nurse, you play an important role in the nursing work and collaborate with your colleagues in various interdisciplinary teams. We actively work on developing patient participation, care plans, nursing plans, and concrete nursing measures. Together with your professional and engaged colleagues, you will contribute to our goal of providing psychiatric care of the highest quality. The tasks involve daily contact with patients, conversations, activities, nursing, and various tasks occurring in the department. Documentation is done in our system TakeCare.

Our Expectations of You

You have an interest in nursing and psychiatry as a focus and are curious, creative, and responsible. You have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues but can also work independently and make your own decisions when necessary. In your nursing work, you base your actions on the resources and needs of the patient and their relatives. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement.

You are a trained assistant nurse. Requirements: Proof of protected professional title for assistant nurses or an employer certificate confirming that you had a permanent position as an assistant nurse on July 1, 2023, in accordance with the transitional provisions (2021:739) in the Patient Safety Act (2010:659). If you are applying with an employer certificate, you must attach your assistant nurse diploma.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatric inpatient care.

  • In addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
