Job Opportunity in the Environmental Analysis Unit

Do you want to work at one of the most exciting workplaces in the county with tasks primarily in the field located in eastern or southern Norrbotten?

We are now looking for 4-9 employees to work in the field where the position will be placed in the Environmental Analysis Unit.

The stationing location will be either at home or at our office in Luleå. The Environmental Analysis Unit runs several projects focusing on measures in water and wetlands, often in collaboration with both regional actors and other countries, and operates in international cooperation forums within the Arctic region. Currently, already approved projects are being conducted at the unit, ranging from individual measures to large multinational projects lasting 3-7 years with co-financing from the EU.

Job Responsibilities

The work consists of supervising an excavator in the restoration of watercourses and/or wetlands. You will be assisted by the work team that carries out manual restoration measures. The projects are conducted this year around Pajala, Korpilombolo, Övertorneå, Niemisel, and Älvsbyn, but other locations in the county may also become relevant. The positions are seasonal employment between May and October by agreement.

The position involves full-time work in the field. The work is associated with travel within the job, primarily within the county, and work on allowances will be applicable.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• completed upper secondary education or equivalent education that we assess as comparable
• experience working independently in the field
• driver's license for passenger cars

As a person, you are results-oriented and have the ability to work independently and systematically with a problem-solving approach. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive work environment. The work requires accuracy and efficiency regarding results.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience in supervising machinery,
• experience in environmental restoration in watercourses or wetlands
• driver's license for chainsaw A and B,
• post-secondary education in biology, limnology, or similar
• experience working with ATVs and/or iron horses/moose pullers
• experience in governmental work and are familiar with state administration or other public activities.
