The Role of Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans. In this role, you will complete an online training course about working as a personal assistant. Together with the client and your colleagues, you will strive for good quality and adhere to the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for receiving information sent out by the head office, and if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other inquiries, you should contact your supervisor or the head office. About Your Role as a Personal Assistant with Me

I am looking for more personal assistants

I am a 57-year-old gay man living in Malmö. I have worked in healthcare and the employment service. I have a neuromuscular disease and need help with most daily activities, except for communication. I am always connected to a ventilator and tracheostomy.

All transfers are done with a lift. Everything from getting up in the morning to transfers between wheelchairs.

The work involves helping me with various tasks to facilitate my daily life. For example, you will assist with personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and tracheostomy care. You and I will take care of the home.

Outside the home, I mainly meet friends and family, shop, go to the theater, and attend MFF matches. We take walks, etc., when the weather permits. I enjoy reading books, am interested in social issues, and have a humanistic view of life and society.

What I expect from you is that you preferably have a driver's license. You should be quick to learn work methods and routines, be flexible, and have the ability to blend in with me in my home. There are physically demanding tasks, but the more routines you learn, the less the burden will be.

I have assistants with me around the clock, currently employing 7 assistants aged approximately 20-40, both male and female. You will work both single and double shifts. For me, prior caregiving experience is not a must, but you should have an interest in the job as an assistant. There are currently hourly positions available, and you will be scheduled 24/7. This is a perfect job for students, retirees, or anyone looking to supplement another job, aged 20 and up. You will shadow until you and I feel it works, and training regarding tracheostomy will take place with me. I utilize HSA, Hela Sveriges Assistans as my assistance provider and act as the supervisor for those working with me.

Job Description

Hourly employment as needed and summer substitute.

We are currently looking for new substitutes who can step in as needed but who can also consider working during the summer.

There may also be a position available on a permanent schedule, but we do not know for sure at this time.

Working hours are scheduled during day/evening, night, and weekends. When working nights, it is awake night shifts.

Before we offer employment, you must provide an unopened extract/digital mailbox from the police's criminal record. We also require a valid Swedish work permit, such as a passport or approved work permit from the Migration Agency.

We train our employees to ensure the quality of personal assistance. All our new employees complete an online introductory training for personal assistants before their first working opportunity, or no later than within a month after starting employment.
