About the Company
Siemens Energy develops and manufactures world-leading gas turbines for a global market. The company also delivers complete turbine-based power plants for long-term sustainable and cost-effective production of electricity, steam, and heat. The turbines are also sold as power sources for compressors and pumps, primarily within the oil and gas industry. With over 2600 employees, most of whom are in Finspång and about 120 in Trollhättan, and an annual turnover of approximately several billion SEK, the company is a significant player in energy technology.
In Trollhättan, combustion chambers for gas turbines are manufactured, and the company specializes in the production of parts made from stainless steel, alloys, and heat-resistant materials.
About the Role
As a tactical buyer, you will have significant responsibility for your supplier base and will handle both operational and more strategic tasks. You will have many contacts internally and with our suppliers worldwide. This means that you will work based on established routines but also handle urgent matters and solve problems. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure good purchasing quality based on the needs of the business and work on continuous improvements of our supply chain.
Your responsibilities include:
Handling purchase orders and invoices.
Optimizing material availability based on business needs.
Setting safety stock, safety times, and batch formation. Updating the material master in SAP.
Tactically balancing and planning material and component procurement within the purchasing area.
Leading and driving supplier meetings.
Monitoring and developing suppliers.
Participating in the qualification and evaluation of suppliers through various processes, e.g., PPQ.
Preparing and conducting negotiations with suppliers.
Participating in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies based on cost-effectiveness, delivery precision, and the right quality.
A Moment in Your Day
You start your day by checking the delivery status from your suppliers and preparing for the morning pulse meetings in production, where you can receive points that need to be resolved for daily production. A supplier has delivery issues, and you call a cross-functional meeting to determine what needs to be done to achieve a smoother production process, both with the supplier and internally. The team then gathers for a common break. You joke with a colleague who forgot to bring their sandwich and once again buys something from the vending machine. Later, you participate in a project meeting where you clarify product requirements so that you can start the procurement of prototype hardware. You collaborate with the strategist responsible for commodities to develop proposals on who should receive inquiries and outline the plan for how procurement should proceed.
About Your Team
There are 9 people in your team, responsible for purchasing and planning production materials in Trollhättan. The team consists of mixed ages and experiences, creating a very good collaborative climate and atmosphere in the group. The buyers also collaborate closely with the strategic buyers organized at the headquarters in Finspång.
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, we believe that:
You have several years of experience in purchasing, preferably within a larger organization and with international suppliers.
You have a university degree in engineering and/or economics.
You have good collaboration skills and can effectively build strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
As a person, you are structured and analytical with strong problem-solving skills and see continuous improvement work as a given.
You express yourself well in both spoken and written English and Swedish and have no problem engaging in tough discussions with suppliers.
You are proficient in standard Office tools and enjoy performing analyses in, for example, Excel. Good knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Application Procedure
The employment begins as a consulting assignment where you will be employed by us at Skill and work as a consultant at Siemens.
If you feel that this position is right for you, you are warmly welcome to submit your application! The selection process will be ongoing, considering the Christmas holiday. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the responsible recruiter, Maria Haswani, [email protected]
