Job Responsibilities

The work is located at the emergency department, Hallands Hospital Varberg.

The job responsibilities include handling patients in the emergency department across all specialties and ages, including children, ENT, and ophthalmology. Regardless of the role you work in, supervision of residents and licensed physicians, as well as non-licensed doctors, is an important integrated part of being a specialist in the emergency clinic. It is also expected that you actively contribute to the development of the clinic.

Scope: Full-time day and evening shifts, as well as on-call duties on holidays and nights.

Special interest areas within emergency care are appreciated, with the opportunity to actively contribute to the specialty training and continuing education for both emergency physicians and other healthcare staff. Combination positions can be discussed.

About the Workplace

The Emergency Clinic at Hallands Hospital is a separate clinic consisting of the emergency departments in Halmstad and Varberg. Emergency physicians have been present in Varberg since 2003. Varberg is a growing community. The emergency department at Hallands Hospital Varberg has approximately 40,000 visits annually. The clinic employs 19 specialists in emergency medicine and 7 residents at various stages of their specialty training, along with a varying number of licensed and non-licensed doctors, as well as about 15 residents.

We meet acute patients across all specialties and ages. We have a supportive educational climate and good collegiality, which is emphasized by very positive feedback from residents. Hallands Hospital Varberg has been at the top of the ranking for residency placements in recent years. The clinic has made significant progress in developing emergency medical services, but there is still great potential for development, and good opportunities exist to participate in shaping the future of emergency care based on individual competence/interests and the needs of the service. We need you for the next step where our mission expands to staffing Varberg's emergency department with emergency physicians around the clock every day of the year.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a specialist in emergency medicine. The position may also be of interest to you if you are in the final stages of your residency training. Specialist competence in another relevant specialty is considered an advantage. The position requires good collaboration skills and that you are a team player, as you will either work as a lead physician or in a team with younger physician colleagues, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is an absolute requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
