About the Workplace
PIVA (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) is part of adult psychiatry's round-the-clock care in Varberg and offers 9+1 beds for patients with acute psychiatric conditions, usually with short hospital stays. Next door is PAM (Psychiatric Emergency Reception), where patients are received for acute assessment and triage. We also conduct digital triage in collaboration with ambulances.
Our overarching goal is to assess and treat acute psychiatric conditions in a safe and secure manner, using person-centered care and a good approach. We actively work on development projects, including through Safewards, which are evidence-based initiatives to promote social cohesion, improve communication, and support patients in difficult situations.
We have an open climate and value reflection and supervision. Each work shift ends with reflection time, and we offer nursing supervision in groups. We work closely with ambulances, police, social services, and other healthcare partners.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse or has other education in health and medical care that the employer deems relevant for the position. You have experience working in psychiatry and are accustomed to working in teams. Experience in other emergency care (e.g., emergency reception, intensive care) is considered an advantage. Specialist training in psychiatry is not a requirement but is highly meritorious.
You should have experience leading other employees and the ability to inspire and drive change processes. As a person, you are calm, stable, and secure in yourself. You are creative and driven to find solutions to problems while standing up for decisions made and ensuring they are followed. You are structured, clear in your communication, and consider the best interests of the entire operation in your actions and decisions. To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, patients, and other contacts, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
Warm welcome with your application!
