About us and the work

Department 5C is a cardiology ward where four of the beds are designated for patients needing cardiac intensive care. All beds in the department offer cardiac monitoring.

Common diagnoses in the department include heart and vascular-related diseases, arrhythmias, heart failure, as well as pre- and postoperative care related to coronary artery bypass, valve surgeries, pacemaker, and ICD insertions. Patients mainly come from the emergency department, but we also have planned admissions from the Heart Clinic and transfers from other hospitals.

We have a close collaboration with the Heart Clinic, where they follow up on patients in the department during and after their hospital stay. Some of the staff have combined positions and rotate between the clinic and the ward. There is a patient care service team (VNS) attached to us that manages the care of the department, such as cleaning and supply management, which allows us to focus on what we do best – the patients. Here with us, we also have shared leadership.

Professional Development

It is important for us that you can develop in your professional role. The unit offers regular training opportunities. As an employee with us, you quickly build a good and broad experience in emergency medicine, and we also offer advanced training of 7.5 credits in cardiology for nurses who want to develop in the field. The goal is for all nurses to have the competence to work in the HIA section. This development journey takes place individually together with the nearest manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. If you are new to the role and feel that we are a workplace for you, we will ensure a good introduction so that you feel secure and grow in the role of a nurse.

Preferably, you enjoy working in a workplace where collaboration is central. We value that you have good collaboration skills, are meticulous and responsible with a strong focus on the best for the patient. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
