About the Job

As a nurse with us, you will work independently with the treatment of children, adolescents, and families based on evidence-based methods. You will provide individual advice, support, and treatment to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, stress, mild eating disorders, psychosomatic problems, and relationship issues. Your responsibilities include assessing the psychiatric and somatic well-being of children and adolescents. The job also involves providing support in parenting.

You will also play an important role in providing telephone advice to our patients and their parents. In your work, together with our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate with medical professionals in other services and care neighbors, such as school health and pediatric medicine.

As a nurse at the clinic, you will contribute to strengthening the mental health of children and young people and providing support to parents. You will work in a team that supports each other and has a high ceiling for ideas. We are positive about competence development and further education.

About the Workplace

Young People's Mental Health was established in 2021 in Halland and is currently available at three locations: Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad. Our mission is to offer children and young people, aged 6 to 17, with mild to moderate mental health issues accessible, safe, effective, and equitable care at the right level.

We also work to support parenting and to detect, prevent, and treat mental and social health issues early. The work is based on the perspective of the child/adolescent. For their best interest, everyone should contribute to ensuring that the operation is characterized by good treatment, competence, a holistic view, development, safety, collaboration, and participation.

By working from a holistic perspective of the child's entire everyday life, we can make a significant difference with targeted, limited interventions through, for example, conversation therapy and parental support.

Our team consists of psychologists, social workers/counselors, nurses, doctors, and administrative assistants. We work together and are all committed to developing the operation from a regional perspective. We have extensive collaboration with schools and social services.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse. We prefer that you have further education in psychiatry and/or previous experience in psychiatric care as well as working with children and young people.

You possess good knowledge regarding the mental health of children and young people. We would like you to have experience in providing support and treatment to children and young people with mental health issues as well as parental support. CBT level 1 and experience in eating disorders are advantageous.

To thrive in the job, you should have a good ability to structure, plan, and focus on your work independently. You have a strong interest in working with children, young people, and their families. You are calm as a person and have a good ability to listen and communicate, and you are also good at understanding someone else's perspective or situation. You enjoy providing advice, understand how others absorb information, and have the ability to assess the need for continued contact. We appreciate innovative thinking in work-related matters.

Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement, as well as a valid B driver's license since travel is required in the job.
