Power Engineer at Forsmark

We offer a unique opportunity to start your career as a power engineer at Forsmark, a vital part of Sweden's energy supply. Through our established talent program, you will receive comprehensive introduction and support to develop in a role within nuclear power. We warmly welcome your application!

ABOUT THE POSITION

Forsmark Nuclear Power Plant is one of the largest electricity producers in Sweden, generating one-sixth of the electricity consumed in the country. Here, you have a unique opportunity to develop as a power engineer if you have an interest in electricity and energy supply. This position is aimed at those who see themselves building a career in nuclear power and developing at Forsmark.

As a power engineer, you will step into an environment where technical expertise and safety culture meet. You will belong to the electrical system design group, and within the group, you will be part of a team of 3–5 senior engineers. Here, you will be part of a humble yet high-performing group where knowledge exchange between senior and junior colleagues is a cornerstone.

You will be offered

  • Full-time work combined with targeted training to maximize your development
  • Salary supplement for those commuting at least 50 km to Forsmark, for example, if you live in Uppsala, Gävle, or Tierp
  • Public transport to and from Forsmark tailored to your working hours

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks

  • Technical detective work: Understand how current systems are structured, what loads they handle, and how documentation matches reality at the facility.
  • Analyze the system's critical functions. What is the purpose of the power system in this part of the facility? What technical requirements are set to ensure safe operation?
  • Explain the impact on the facility and report how safety is managed

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has a Master's degree in electrical engineering or energy systems, or a Bachelor's degree in electrical power engineering
  • Is fluent in Swedish and English in both spoken and written form as it is required for communication and documentation

To succeed in this role, you possess the following personal qualities:

  • You are meticulous and methodical in your approach to reading technical documentation.
  • You have the ability to see the big picture – how an individual electrical central or transformer affects the overall performance of the facility.
  • You enjoy working closely with colleagues and understand the value of communicating your progress and challenges.

The position is security classified, which means that a security clearance will be conducted before employment. The security clearance includes a background check and security interview in accordance with the Security Protection Act. In addition to the security clearance, a drug test will be conducted.
