Do you want to make a real difference for children's learning and development at a central level? Pedagogcentrum's Metodverkstad is looking for an experienced and driven preschool teacher with strong commitment who wants to contribute to making Österåker the best school municipality in the county.

Pedagogcentrum is Österåker Municipality's hub for professional development for educators, teachers, and principals. Part of Pedagogcentrum is Metodverkstan, Sweden's first makerspace for preschool and pedagogical care. Metodverkstan offers development initiatives linked to identified needs in the unit's systematic quality work. The development work takes place both in our premises Metodverkstan and on-site at our preschools and pedagogical care. The purpose of Metodverkstan is to enhance and inspire educators, teachers, and principals so that the quality of teaching increases and children learn and develop even more.

Your new job

As a development leader at Pedagogcentrum, you have a free and independent work role with very high demands for competence, endurance, and drive. You are responsible for Metodverkstan and lead the work from start to finish, including booking, planning, implementation, and follow-up of each development initiative. You create demand by delivering high-quality and accessible development initiatives. The work is fast-paced and requires you to have a good ability to structure, organize, and prioritize to keep multiple parallel processes running at the same time.

Your professionalism, creativity, and drive are crucial for success. You are an experienced and well-regarded leader with the ability and experience to provide practical support to teachers and educators, always based on the curriculum and data. Your methods are based on scientific principles and proven experience. You scan the environment and let new research and findings influence/improve your working methods and practices.

You have a very high physical presence at the workplace and are accessible. You collaborate closely with educators, teachers, and principals. You quickly absorb new information and apply it in practice. You are good at listening and learning in all your meetings without losing focus on the purpose of the development work and what it should result in. You are systematic, structured, and do not give up.

Conversations and collaboration with the principal are central to the work.

The work is not suitable for everyone as it requires a person who is exceptionally skilled, experienced, and driven, with an unwavering belief that the impossible is possible. You have the ability to inspire, challenge, and enhance educators, teachers, and principals even in difficult teaching situations or under challenging conditions.

Your profile

  • Licensed preschool teacher.
  • Very high digital competence, administratively and in teaching.
  • Documented experience and skill in teaching and school development.
  • Very good collaboration skills, but with an even higher ability and drive to work independently and take initiative.
  • Quick to absorb new information and apply it in your practical work.
  • Order and organization come naturally and easily to you.
  • Humble, unpretentious, and clear leader with a strong belief in the competent individual.
  • For you, children's changing knowledge is always at the center, and you have many different tools to visualize and support development.
  • You find it easy to prioritize and always work efficiently with practical reality and the curriculum as a foundation.
  • You are used to leading learning processes and conducting reflective conversations with preschool teachers about didactics and pedagogy in preschool.
  • You are development-oriented, structured, patient, and flexible.

A driver's license and car are advantageous as time-efficient site visits are part of your daily work. You should be able to quickly travel between different units and back to your workplace, the municipal building Alcea.

About Pedagogcentrum

Everyone working at Pedagogcentrum has different roles and works independently, but they depend on each other to succeed. We are a small, engaged, driven, and positive workgroup that works purposefully and systematically to support principals and teachers in their work with children's and students' learning and development within both municipal and private entities.
