The staff is organized in teams where we collectively take responsibility for the students' knowledge acquisition and social development based on an inclusive and salutogenic approach. We have a well-developed collaboration between preschool class, after-school care/leisure club, and school. With us, everyone should thrive, feel safe, and experience joy at work!
We offer
Come and work with us at Sköndal School. Here you will have the opportunity to work with competent colleagues and make a difference for our students. We offer wellness benefits and work together for good staff care.
Your role
Job Description
You will be part of one of our teams at the school. Together with other colleagues in the team, you will contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each child and for the entire group of children, both during school hours and during leisure time. Your main task will be to support children with special needs.
The educators in the team collaborate and work together throughout the school day. During school hours, you will be a present, active, and supportive educator in the classroom. In the afternoons, you will participate in and be responsible for leisure activities.
You are a trained childcare worker with commitment, relationship-building skills, and a genuine interest in students' development. As a childcare worker, you contribute to ensuring that care functions well and that the daily educational work is based on children's participation and choices. In daily contacts with guardians, you are engaged, child-focused, and service-oriented.
Your skills and experience
For this position, you are required to have:
- high school or post-secondary education, preferably in psychology
- experience supporting students/children with diabetes
- experience and/or education in the area of intellectual disabilities
- knowledge and experience of alternative communication tools
- experience working in after-school care where you have led activities in larger groups.
- experience and education in severe autism
- good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is also meritorious if you have:
- experience actively driving the development and quality work of after-school care forward
- the ability to be flexible and change working methods and structure depending on the context you are in
To succeed as a resource educator with us, it is important that you have both collaborative skills and a good ability to build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. With your pedagogical insight, you can understand and adapt to different students' and groups' ways of learning, which allows you to choose methods and tools that suit their unique needs. Furthermore, you are stable, calm, and controlled in challenging or new situations, which contributes to security for both students and colleagues.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Welcome with your application!
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
