Subject Area
NMR spectroscopy with a focus on materials chemistry.
Subject Description
The subject area for the position is NMR spectroscopy with a focus on materials chemistry. This includes advanced usage and method development primarily within solid-state NMR to study hard and/or soft materials, including colloids, as well as high-resolution NMR studies in liquids and NMR experiments using field gradients such as imaging or diffusion studies. Independent experimental research on materials is an important part of the position. A key focus of the work is on materials and material systems that are part of sustainable societal development, e.g., batteries and fuel cells.
Responsibilities
The assistant professor is expected to conduct research at a high international level and develop an independent research group. Responsibilities also include supervision of doctoral students, research administration, applying for external funding, and participating in education within the CBH school's educational programs at undergraduate and advanced levels. The position also entails a central role within the national infrastructure SwedNMR and a close connection to the WISE program for materials research. Collaboration with other researchers in different research fields is a central part of the position. The assistant professor is expected to assist and participate in the development of the NMR activities at the department, which involves overall responsibility for the operation of NMR instruments.
