Uppsala University Faculty of Law is Hiring a Teaching Assistant
The Faculty of Law at Uppsala University is the oldest law faculty in the Nordic countries, established when the university was founded in 1477.
Here, you will find a comprehensive and well-regarded undergraduate and graduate education. The faculty houses the Department of Law, where approximately 200 people are employed.
Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you will be in contact with both prospective and admitted students of the course. You will assist the course leader and course administrators in the administrative work directed towards the law program's students. You will have contact with practicing lawyers both within and outside the faculty. Main tasks include the preparation and distribution of course materials, scheduling and group division, communication with students, course councils, and course evaluations, attendance reporting, administration of the university's interactive, web-based communication systems, and exam administration.
Qualifications
We are looking for an active student in the law program at Uppsala University. You should have good computer skills, strong administrative abilities, and be proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
The work involves daily contact with both students and staff, which requires you to be service-oriented, responsible, and meticulous. You are structured, have a good sense of order, and are willing to take initiative. Furthermore, you have good planning skills and enjoy collaborating with various staff groups.
Conditions
Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated by Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Only those admitted to undergraduate or graduate education may be employed as teaching assistants (HF Chapter 5, Section 10).
Desirable/meritorious
We hope that you, as a candidate, can work with us for at least 12 months, preferably longer. It is advantageous if you have a good understanding of the structure and pedagogical ideas of the law program.
About the Position
The position is temporary according to HF Chapter 5, Section 12. The extent is 40%. Start date is February 16, 2026, or as agreed. Location: Uppsala
