Assistant Nurse with Interest in Eating Disorders
Are you a trained assistant nurse with an interest in working closely with people and developing care for eating disorders? Then you are warmly welcome to us!
The Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) is one of the largest specialist clinics in the world for patients with eating disorders and receives patients of all ages.
We have a well-developed operation with digital care, outpatient care, intensive outpatient care, day care, round-the-clock care, and nationally specialized care for both adults, children, and adolescents. Today we have just over 280 employees. Our outpatient and day care are located in Södermalm and our round-the-clock care at Danderyd Hospital.
Round-the-clock care for children and adolescents has space for 12 families with a treatment time of 6-10 weeks. Family work plays a central role in the treatment where parents are strengthened in their parenting role and gain increased knowledge about the eating disorder. Parents are present with their children throughout the treatment period. With us, you work closely in a team (care team) with nurses, assistant nurses, psychiatrists, dietitians, and social workers. FBT plays a very central role in the treatment.

Job Responsibilities:
As an assistant nurse with us, your duties include both psychiatric and somatic care. The child mostly always has a parent with them on the ward throughout the treatment period as the treatment is family-based and aims to strengthen parents' mandate and provide them with increased knowledge about eating disorders. You should be there as support. However, we should also be able to offer treatment for children who do not have the opportunity to have a guardian in the ward. You assist patients with anxiety management and are there as meal support if needed. You also perform somatic examinations such as blood sampling, placing a gastric tube, EKG, and weight control.
Employment Type:
Permanent employment, day/evening and weekend shifts. Full-time 37 hours/week, or as agreed. A probationary period may apply.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who is a trained assistant nurse, with a certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare, and who has experience working with patients with eating disorders, either from somatic, psychiatric, or specialized eating disorder care. We consider it an advantage if you have completed assistant nurse training with a focus on psychiatric care and have experience with patients with autism spectrum disorders or self-harming behavior. If you are a trained CPR instructor or Bergen instructor, that is also an advantage. Likewise, previous practical experience in somatic examinations such as venous blood sampling and EKG, as well as knowledge of the TakeCare journal system.
Personal Qualities:
You have a genuine interest in people. You use conversation as a tool in patient work and focus on patient-centered care.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, and we would like you to be a person who shows commitment and initiative in your work. You are unpretentious, loyal, and have good social skills. You care about the work environment for the team and want to create a pleasant environment for everyone. As we are facing the relocation of the clinic's round-the-clock care to Danderyd Hospital, there is a need for flexibility and a willingness to participate in the creation process of the care department.
Our Benefits:
SLSO creates good conditions for you as an employee to develop and become really good in your profession. As an employee, you have benefits such as free healthcare up to the high-cost protection, extra compensation during parental leave, pension agreements, and insurance. We also apply flexible working hours, wellness hours, and 5000 SEK in wellness grants/calendar year.
