Huddinge Remand Center is located in Flemingsberg and is one of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's secure remand centers that receives detainees both with and without restrictions. The remand center also has a branch in Nacka. You can easily reach Huddinge Remand Center by train and a short walk from Flemingsberg station.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service conducts some open health and medical care, which means that all prisons and remand centers have medical clinics where detainees can seek care. In addition to nurses, there are general practitioners and psychiatrists at the clinics. As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, but you will also determine which applicants should see a doctor. This means that you will work with both somatic and psychiatric health care for the detainees, assist during medical consultations, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing.

At the secure remand center in Huddinge, you will work closely with 3 other nurses, one of whom holds a coordinating position.

Working hours are weekdays during the day, with weekend work every fourth weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You find it easy to collaborate with other people in different professions and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have a high level of integrity and the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You are quality-conscious and meticulous, and you have the ability to structure your approach and drive your processes forward.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to everyone being treated equally with your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who is/has:

• Registered nurse
• Work experience in the profession
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you have:

• A relevant specialization for the employer, such as in psychiatry or as a district nurse
• Longer experience in psychiatry, addiction care, or primary care
• Worked with incarcerated patients
