About Us

The Anesthesia Clinic at Mälarsjukhuset/Kullbergska Hospital is a high-tech, dynamic, and development-oriented clinic and the largest service clinic in Sömland. The core mission of the Anesthesia Clinic consists of surgical care and intensive care.

We have a stable staffing without the need for temporary doctors, and we place great emphasis on long-term employment. Our recruitment of future staff has been through ST doctors for many years, who are a central part of our clinical operations. The main placement and all on-call activities during ST are at Mälarsjukhuset, where all our acute surgery, obstetrics, and intensive care are conducted in newly built facilities. Some short assignments within elective surgical operations are also performed at Kullbergska Hospital.

The ST training is well-organized and continuously developed by our ST study director. The introduction period is 6 months. From the first day of employment, you will have a specialist-competent, supervisor-trained mentor. As an ST doctor, you have scheduled study time, internal training at the clinic, and participate in external courses and Stockholm's regional lecture series.

Research opportunities within Region Sömland are generally good, and particularly within the anesthesia clinic. The clinic has increasing research activity with several PhD doctors and ongoing studies.

Your Responsibilities

Induce and awaken anesthesia, provide pain relief, and save lives of patients of all ages.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed physician at the start of employment. Applications can be made from the later stages of AT/BT. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Employment Type

Permanent employment with start date as agreed, spring 2026. We apply a 6-month probationary period before a decision on permanent employment.
