About Us

The Anesthesia Clinic at Mälarsjukhuset/Kullbergska Hospital is a high-tech, dynamic, and development-oriented clinic and the largest service clinic in Södermanland. The core mission of the Anesthesia Clinic consists of surgical care and intensive care.

We have a stable staffing without the need for temporary physicians, and we place great emphasis on long-term employment. Our future workforce has been recruited for many years through ST physicians, who are a central part of our clinical operations. The main placement and all on-call activities during ST are at Mälarsjukhuset, where all our acute surgery, obstetrics, and intensive care are conducted in newly built facilities. Occasional, short assignments in elective surgery are also performed at Kullbergska Hospital.

The ST training is well-organized and continuously developed by our ST program director. The introduction period is 6 months. From the first day of employment, you will have a specialist-competent, trained supervisor. As an ST physician, you have scheduled study time, internal training at the clinic, and participate in external courses and Stockholm's regional lecture series.

Research opportunities within Region Södermanland are generally good and particularly within the anesthesia clinic. The clinic has increasing research activity with several PhD physicians and ongoing studies.

Your Responsibilities

Induce and awaken anesthesia, provide pain relief, and save lives for patients of all ages.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed physician at the start of employment. Applications can be made from the later stages of AT/BT. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Employment Type

Permanent employment with start date by agreement, spring 2026. We apply a 6-month probationary period before a decision on permanent employment.
