We need engaged employees who want to help shape our municipality's future. The new Service Department is part of the Technical Administration and prepares meals for preschools, schools, high schools, and special accommodations, as well as performing cleaning services in buildings where municipal activities are conducted. We are about 100 employees distributed across three units. We are passionate about people, food, and quality, and we see development and change as a natural part of our operations. We work with digitalization to streamline and enhance the quality of our work.
Within the Service Department, we work to improve work methods and enhance collective competence, in order to provide meal guests in preschools, schools, and elderly care with a better dining experience. In addition to working on the quality of food and cleaning, we strive to collaborate with staff from other departments within the municipality to enhance the overall experience for users, preschool children, and students. An example is collaboration with care staff to conduct theme evenings, such as a joint barbecue evening.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a team leader, you will lead and coordinate daily operations on behalf of the responsible unit manager, with a focus on the citizen. You will drive and develop the operations based on decisions made. The assignment involves coordinating, organizing, and leading towards established goals. In this role, you will work to utilize the organization's opportunities and enable collaboration across organizational and operational boundaries.
Your responsibilities include managing substitutes in collaboration with the nearest manager and other team leaders. In the new service organization, the goal is to reduce the need for substitutes during short-term absences through collaboration between meal services and cleaning.
As a team leader, you will be part of the department's developing meal council. Together with the responsible unit manager, you will participate in planning and conducting workplace meetings (APT).
The team leader assignment in Älmhult Municipality is based on a holistic view of operations, employees, organization, and resources. Leadership and employee engagement are directly dependent on each other. In collaboration with the unit manager, you will develop good employee engagement. Support is available in the form of policies, regulations, guidelines, and work instructions that indicate the employer's political direction.
You will make priorities and create the best possible operations based on economic and operational awareness within your area of responsibility. You will develop the operations through entrepreneurship and systematic quality work to meet changing needs and expectations from citizens. As a team leader, you are a role model for your employees and actively work in everyday life with an approach where the guiding principles are collaboration, solution focus, and flexibility. Your assignment includes creating good conditions for employees to develop in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a chef's education and training in self-monitoring programs - HACCP. You have experience in operational leadership.
You also have good knowledge of;
- green transition in meals for preschools and schools
- sustainability issues and Agenda 2030
- nutrition data programs
- or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer
As a team leader, you need to be skilled at communicating clearly and directly, but also be attentive and able to show empathy. You must have the courage to make decisions and handle any conflicts constructively. You are good at coaching others through continuous feedback and showing appreciation for both big and small contributions.
As a person, you are curious and willing to try new things. You take initiative and utilize your scope for continuous improvements. You have good computer skills and speak and write Swedish fluently.
A driving license (B) is required.
