As an occupational therapist, you are responsible for occupational therapy assessments aimed at maintaining the elderly's physical health and preserving functions. You work rehabilitatively and functionally to enhance the elderly's independence and quality of life. You are responsible for the evaluation and prescription of aids and medical technical products, as well as further education and guidance of the care staff regarding rehabilitative approaches and methods. You are responsible for developing staff competencies in ergonomics and transfer techniques.

Documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions, as well as collaboration with other actors in the care chain, are part of the profession. It is a broad role with many points of contact that requires independence and initiative. You will be part of the management team of the organization, as well as the team around the elderly together with other professionals.

About us

Norlandia Fatburen is an elderly home located in the picturesque Vallby in Västerås. The facility consists of six units with 48 apartments, of which 40 are focused on dementia care. Norlandia Ängsklockan is located in the beautiful Gideonsberg, close to both green areas and water. Both units have gardens adjacent to the buildings.

Norlandia focuses on food, health, and community. At the center is care and respectful treatment to ensure that the elderly have a “good life – every day.”

As an occupational therapist in elderly care, you will have the opportunity to take significant personal responsibility, which requires both professional skills, prioritization ability, and flexibility.

·        We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist.

·        It is highly meritorious if you have previous experience as an occupational therapist in elderly care.

·        Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.

·        We prefer that you have good computer skills and system knowledge.

• Employment form: Temporary position for 1 year

• Scope: Part-time 50-80%
