Sudrets parish is located in the southernmost part of Gotland and includes the congregations of Hoburg, Havdhem, and Alva-Hemse-Rone. Here you will find fourteen medieval churches and a team of nearly twenty dedicated employees, as well as interested and knowledgeable elected representatives.

The parish strives to be an open and community-oriented church that emphasizes the equal value of all people and, based on Christian faith, aims to provide an environment characterized by mutual respect and trust.

We are now looking for a part-time economist who wants to work both practically and strategically.

You will manage the parish's finances with support from the Visby diocese's service office and the Church of Sweden's payroll service. You will work independently but in close collaboration with the parish priest, cemetery and property manager, and the administrative assistant. The position involves varied tasks and many contacts with people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Handle invoice management for both supplier and customer invoices.
  • Be responsible for the handling and reporting of collections, as well as other donations and contributions.
  • Work with budgets and financial statements, which includes preparing detailed budgets and presenting them to employees and elected representatives, ongoing financial reports and forecasts, as well as compiling materials for the financial statement.
  • Support managers and operationally responsible employees with financial questions, assist with analyses and investigations of a financial nature, and help with grant applications.
  • Administer fees for elected representatives and contractors.
  • Be responsible for the diary and archive management together with the parish's administrative assistant.
  • Assist in covering for the administrative assistant during their absence.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with education in economics at a post-secondary level or equivalent and several years of experience in qualified financial work. You have good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel, but also Teams, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with the Church of Sweden's systems: Aveny, Kbok, Kyrksam, etc., is an advantage, as well as knowledge in diary management and archive handling.

The role requires you to have a very good command of Swedish, both spoken and written. You also need to have good social skills. You must be able to explain financial issues clearly and pedagogically, even to people who lack financial knowledge.

As a person, you are meticulous and structured, with a good ability to see the big picture and understand how different parts of the economy are interconnected. You enjoy taking responsibility for ensuring that tasks are performed correctly and on time, while also being a team player who contributes to common goals and results.

We expect you to be a member of the Church of Sweden and share its values.

The position is 50% with the main workplace at the parish office in Havdhem. Working hours are generally during office hours, but occasional evenings may occur. The hours can be adjusted so that the position can be combined with other work.

Recruitment is ongoing. Start date by agreement.
