Speech Therapist for the habilitation of Children and Young Adults
Do you want to be part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen – a region to long for and grow in? With us, you contribute to development and growth throughout the county and work to provide the best possible service, care, and support for everyone living in or visiting the region.
We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, participation, and commitment, where both breadth and specialized competence are valued. Here you will have the opportunity to develop in your role, whether you are new to the profession or have long experience.
Are you a team player looking for a varied and challenging job? Welcome to us at the habilitation for Children and Young Adults!
We are a workplace that makes a difference every day! We are looking for a speech therapist for our specialized units with a distribution of 60% Adult Habilitation (VH) and 40% Child and Youth Habilitation (BUH).
Here we work in teams, aiming to comprehensively promote the development of the best possible functional ability, activity, and participation, as well as physical, mental, and social well-being of the individual.
The target group at VH is individuals aged 18 and older with specific, complex disabilities due to congenital or early acquired injury/illness. Adult habilitation is a specialist resource that receives referrals from municipalities and primary care in Jämtland/Härjedalen for in-depth, interdisciplinary, and time-limited interventions. The interventions can be investigative and/or therapeutic and can be provided through individual contacts, in groups, through training, and consultations.
The operations at BUH target children and adolescents with congenital or acquired disabilities that create difficulties in everyday life. The unit is organizationally divided into four teams: child team, youth team, and two autism teams. In addition to the core mission, the operations are responsible for supplementary assignments such as the Eating Team, Rehabilitation Team, and Risk Child Follow-up.
In the team, we work closely together and have a very good collaborative climate among the different professional categories. The teams consist of occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, speech therapists, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses/urotherapists, and team secretaries. We have a need for an expanded speech therapy resource with an interest in the patient groups and teamwork.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a speech therapist in the team at VH, you contribute with a speech therapy perspective in the teamwork. Your responsibilities include assessing and treating interventions regarding speech, voice, language, communication, and dysphagia/eating and swallowing ability.
The interventions are designed and planned based on each patient's specific needs, goals, and conditions. The work is performed both in the clinic, digitally, and at other locations. The work also includes educational and informational tasks.
The speech therapist is also part of follow-ups according to national quality registers such as CPUP.
As a speech therapist within BUH, you will have tasks of a limited nature.
Since the position is placed at VH, it is also there that you will have your main affiliation regarding APT, treatment conferences, planning days, etc.
